My mom used to sing this to me. Just imagine the confidence in God that gave me in what God was and wanted to do in my life! Those foundations of faith hearing those songs planted in my heart? No wonder Psalms is such a comfort to us.
The Word continues to be a source of strength and comfort to me. It is where I choose to find my identity!
Psalm 28:7 (NIV) The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
Psalm 40:3 (NIV) He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.
Greetings from Wordwise Hymns. It was your reference to Stuart Hamblen's song that caught my eye. I posted an article on it myself this morning. (And if you click on the link at the top of the page, you can hear Mr. Hamblen sing his own song.)
ReplyDeleteTruly the "tender mercies" of God are all around us (Ps. 145:9). They're no secret at all. God bless.
